{"id":2558,"date":"2020-11-14T13:48:29","date_gmt":"2020-11-14T13:48:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elhr.co.uk\/?p=2558"},"modified":"2025-07-28T12:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T11:42:12","slug":"friday-13th-cjrs-furlough-government-announcement-for-employers-re-december-2020-frightnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elhr.co.uk\/?p=2558","title":{"rendered":"Friday 13th CJRS Furlough Govt. changes re December 2020 &#8211; frightnight?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Friday 13th CJRS Furlough Govt. changes re December 2020 &#8211; frightnight?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Government CJRS Scheme &#8211; Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme Guidance has just been updated with an December, 2020 amendments important for employers to note.\u00a0 What are they?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>CJRS Friday 13th amendments &#8211; what&#8217;s new?\u00a0 Is it frightnight for employers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With reference to claim periods commencing on, or after 1 December 2020, an employer cannot claim for any days during this period if the employee was serving a contractual, or statutory notice period for the employer (this includes people serving notice of retirement or resignation).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Government guidance links are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/check-if-you-could-be-covered-by-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/check-which-employees-you-can-put-on-furlough-to-use-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Prior to 1 December 2020, there are provisions facilitating claims may be made if the employee is serving statutory notice only.
